Site Design Workshop #2
Once again led by the landscape architects at WPL, the day's conversation began with a short illustration of various site layouts as prepared by the design team. Following this introduction, a host of design concepts, precedents, and amenities were presented to the Site Design Committee to get everyone to start thinking creatively about how this building can begin to fit into the neighborhood: functionally, aesthetically, and environmentally. From play equipment, to clever stormwater solutions, and to contemporary garden concepts, the committee was then asked to break out their sketch paper and apply these concepts to several site options. By taking stock of the group's interests, it's possible to gather from this collection of neighbors, faculty, students, city leadership, and designers what is most valuable to the community.
